So, as many of you know, I'm leaving for Italy October 11th. I'm so excited because my entire life I have dreamed of going there and seeing the art and architecture and all the history there.... Europe in general is just amazing. :3
UNFORTUNATELY
My passport expired a few months ago ( also we lost it <.< ), so we went to the passport office this morning with all our forms handy and gave them to the guy. Everything was filled out, except for my dad's signature, and we told him that we haven't seen or heard from him in over five years. This worked when I got my last passport, why shouldn't it work now, right?
AS IT TURNS OUT, it doesn't matter if we have no idea where he is, we still need his signature! If for some reason we cannot find him, we'll need to sign a form saying so, with a lawyer present, and hand over $100.
THIS IS BULLSHIT
Just because my asshole dad decided to ditch us and leave us little-to-no evidence of where the fuck he currently resides, doesn't mean I should be stopped from doing what I want. I haven't seen the guy for most of my life, why should he have any say in what goes on now? I decided to go on this trip, he had no say in it whatsoever... I don't think he even knows what's going on. The entire trip has been paid for ( about $3500 ). We went through shit to pay this off, we are by no means doing well financially, and now we have to pay an extra $100 that we don't have because my dad decided he didn't want anything to do with us anymore.
If we do somehow find him and we get his signature ( which we are trying to do as I type this ), chances are we won't get my passport in time for the trip.
Send me waves of .... good..... and please please help me get this passport in time. Pray or wish on stars/eyelashes/weird food or do whatever works for you. I'll be doing the same.

It's not your fault you haven't heard from him, and since he's been gone for five years, why do you even need his signature? If, legally, you live with only one parent, shouldn't you need just that parent's signature? Seriously.
